The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating an officer involved shooting that left one person dead in Jefferson City.
According to the Jefferson City Police Department their officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Gordon Street for a burglary in progress during the afternoon hours of Friday, Mar. 7, 2025.
During the investigation, officers encountered a subject inside the residence.
The subject was armed, a shooting occurred according to Jefferson City Police.
The subject did not survive the incident. Jefferson City Police requested the Missouri State Highway Patrol for assistance and they have begun their investigation.
No officer was injured during this event.
