Cole County Emergency Medical Services is wrapping up another holiday toy drive with a big haul for mid-Missouri kids.
This year’s drive brought in 67 boxes of new toys, enough to fill seven ambulances.
The effort was a partnership between Cole County EMS, Jefferson City Toys for Tots, and the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.
While that’s slightly fewer than last year’s nine ambulances, officials say the spirit of giving remains strong.
The tradition began five years ago when Presiding Commissioner Sam Bushman challenged the community to fill just one ambulance.
