A Boone County grand jury has downgraded drug trafficking charges for two brothers accused after a police chase in Columbia last December.
Court documents show 49-year-old Demetrius Key and 51-year-old Charles Key Jr. were indicted on second-degree trafficking charges, reduced from first-degree.
Demetrius Key also faces a felony tampering count, while Charles Key Jr. is charged with aggravated fleeing.
Investigators say the men sped off during a traffic stop, tossing suspected meth from their vehicle.
Officers later recovered about 51 grams along the roadway.
The chase ended on East Phoenix Road, both men were arrested and remain held without bond in the Boone County Jail.
