Highway Patrol Offers Tips For Travel In Extreme Cold

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is urging all drivers to be prepared if traveling during the extreme cold tonight [Tuesday] and tomorrow. [Wednesday]

Troopers suggest keeping gas tanks at least half full in case drivers get stranded. This will provide for some warmth.

The Highway Patrol says having a safety kit that includes battery booster cables, blankets, extra coats, gloves, water, non-perishable food and a flashlight is strongly advised.

Last, before traveling ensure that cell phones are fully charged to call for help.
