Jefferson City Woman Indicted in Alleged Stabbing of Mother
A Cole County grand jury has indicted a Jefferson City woman accused of stabbing her mother in the face.
Investigators say 33-year-old Michelle Ritchie was charged with first-degree domestic assault and armed criminal action after her mother was seriously injured in a Feb. 12 attack on Dover Street.
Police say the victim called 911, reporting her daughter had stabbed her before fleeing in a car.
Officers later found a bloody kitchen knife in the home and arrested Ritchie in a parking lot on West Stadium Boulevard.
Ritchie remains in the Cole County Jail without bond and is set to be arraigned April 6.
