A Boone County grand jury has added new charges against a man connected to the 2023 shooting death of 33-year-old Deshon Houston on Dove Drive.
21-year-old Ja’Shaun Barney now faces conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, along with several accessory and weapons charges. He’s scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning at the Boone County Courthouse.
Court records link Barney to the same case where six other suspects have already pleaded guilty in Houston’s death. Police found Houston with a gunshot wound to the head outside a duplex after reports of shots fired in June 2023
