Montgomery County I-70 accident injures KC man and woman

Two people were involved in a single-vehicle accident late Sunday evening in Montgomery County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) reported that around 9:50 p.m., a 2014 Toyota Tundra was traveling eastbound on I-70, at the 166 mile marker, east of Williamsburg.

The Toyota ran off the left side of the road, steered back to the interstate, but overcorrected and traveled off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle overturned several times as it rolled down an embankment, striking several trees before coming to a rest.

A 29-year-old male driver from Kansas City and a 30-year-old female passenger were both seriously injured in the crash. They were transported by Montgomery County Ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.
