A one-vehicle accident in Jefferson City has left one person with undetermined injuries.
The Jefferson City Police Department responded at approximately 12:45pm to a motor vehicle crash in the 2200 block of westbound US Highway 50.
Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle in the tree line on the north side of the highway. One individual was inside the vehicle and sustained injuries.
The investigation determined that the driver, traveling eastbound in a 2022 Honda, likely experienced a medical emergency prior to leaving the roadway on the left side, crossed the center median, and continued across the westbound lanes before exiting the roadway on the north side and striking a tree.
No other vehicles were involved.
The driver was airlifted from the scene to a hospital for further evaluation.
The roadway was temporarily shut down in both directions while emergency personnel responded and cleared the scene.
