Jeff City Crash Suspect Found, Now Facing Charges

A Jefferson City man who was reported missing after a crash last week is now facing charges tied to that incident.

Court documents show Nathan Spencer is charged with felony leaving the scene of an accident, along with misdemeanor counts of careless driving and driving without a license.

Investigators say Spencer was speeding and swerving before crashing into another vehicle, pushing it into a guardrail and causing more than $1,000 in damage.

Spencer disappeared after the April 28 crash and was found days later, on May 1st, in a wooded area near Capital View Drive following a multi-agency search.

He was taken to a hospital, where he remains.

Spencer is being held on a $5,000 bond.
