One man has been arrested in Boone County and charged with abandoning a body in Perche Creek.
A boater found the body in a City of Columbia trash can on Sunday, and on Monday night, 53-year-old Andrew B. Acton was taken into custody.
Probable cause statements say that authorities used surveillance footage to match Acton’s red truck with one that was seen with a trash can in the back several days prior.
Acton is officially charged with abandonment of a corpse and tampering with evidence in felony prosecution.
Acton is being held without bond in the Boone County Jail and has an initial appearance scheduled for Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.
