Travelers flying out of Columbia Regional Airport will soon have a new way to get to the terminal.
Airport officials say a shuttle bus service launching in June will transport passengers and luggage from the parking area directly to the terminal.
The new service comes as phase one of airport improvement projects nears completion, including work on a north parking lot that will add 250 new spaces.
In April, the Columbia City Council approved more than 13 million dollars in upgrades for the airport, including a new boarding bridge, expanded deicing facilities, a production kitchen for concessions, and major roadway reconstruction around the terminal.
