A Boone County grand jury indicted a 17-year-old from Columbia yesterday in relation to a fatal shooting in January.
Mikel Jones has been charged after he and several accomplices reportedly arranged a meetup to buy a phone through Facebook Marketplace, only to steal the phone and run off.
Incidents like this reportedly happened on January 16th, 17th and 18th.
In the robbery on the 18th, the reported thieves shot and killed 42-year-old Michael Ryan Burke.
Jones was charged with second degree murder, first degree robbery, and armed criminal action. Alexis Baumann, Kob Aust, and Joseph Crane were indicted with murder charges in February.
Jones is being held in the Boone County Jail without bond and has an arraignment scheduled for June 8th in Boone County Court.
