A Columbia man pleaded guilty to a manslaughter charge yesterday which landed him 20 years in prison.
20-year-old Terell Fields was sentenced in connection to the shooting death of 18-year-old Kaidynce Payne in February of 2025.
Fields pleaded guilty to first degree manslaughter, unlawful use of a weapon, tampering with evidence, and stealing a firearm.
He also pleaded guilty in a separate case to tampering with a motor vehicle and pleading a stop, for which he was given 7 years’ prison time.
Fields will serve his twenty-year sentence and his seven-year sentence simultaneously.
