A Montgomery City man was sentenced Friday for his part in his 2-year-old child’s death in September 2024.
According to court documents, Bryan Danter had pled guilty in April and was sentenced to a total of 15 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for second-degree felony murder, second-degree drug trafficking and unlawful possession of a firearm.
A 2-year-old child was found dead in Danter’s apartment, and investigators concluded that the child died of fentanyl exposure.
Also during the investigation, troopers found a pump-action shotgun, a semi-automatic shotgun and a semi-automatic .22-caliber rifle, with the serial number on the rifle sanded off.
Danter, a former felon, was prohibited from having weapons.
