A second inmate death has been reported this week at the Jefferson City Correctional Center.
The Missouri Department of Corrections says 70-year-old James Green died Wednesday morning at University Hospital in Columbia.
Green was serving a 25-year sentence for two counts of second-degree vehicular murder out of Jackson County and had been incarcerated since 2017.
An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death.
arlier this week, another inmate at the facility, a 74-year-old man serving a life sentence, was also reported dead.
