A 60-year-old Holts Summit man has pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of attempted production of child sexual abuse material.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Missouri, David Lee Maddox admitted to the charge as part of a federal case.
Prosecutors say the investigation began after Homeland Security Investigations received information linking Maddox to online communications with individuals in the Philippines suspected of trafficking child sexual abuse material.
Court documents allege Maddox paid to receive illegal videos over a period of more than two years.
Maddox faces up to 30 years in federal prison, with sentencing scheduled for a later date.
