Fulton Police Chief Bill Ladwig is retiring August 3 after 26 years with the department.
Ladwig joined the force in 2000 and has served as police chief for the past five years.
City leaders praised his professionalism, integrity and commitment to public service, thanking him for more than two decades of protecting the Fulton community.
The city says it has completed an internal interview process to choose the next police chief, with an official appointment expected to be announced at a later date.
