Expired Tag Leads to Fugitive Arrest in Audrain County

An expired license plate tag led to the arrest of a wanted fugitive in Audrain County Wednesday morning.

Sheriff’s deputies say they stopped a vehicle just after 9 a.m. and determined the driver, Jimmie Trower of Monroe City, was showing signs of impairment.

Deputies also discovered Trower was wanted on three outstanding warrants from Marion and Monroe counties with a combined cash-only bond of $51,000.

He was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and possession of drug paraphernalia, and is being held in the Audrain County Jail pending formal charges and extradition.
