Suspect in Boonville Casino Robbery Has Bond Reduced

A man accused in a robbery of the Isle of Capri Casino in Boonville has had his bond reduced.

Former casino employee 21-year-old Benjamin M. Charles was arrested on charges of first-degree robbery, armed criminal action and tampering with physical evidence in felony prosecution, from a case in which he and Hollis Vanleer were accused of stealing $1.27 million from the bank area of the casino.

His bond has been reduced from $1.3 million cash only to $1 million cash or surety and $250,000 cash.

Charles is being held in the Cooper County Detention Center. He has a trial-setting hearing scheduled for Sept. 28
