Former Randolph County Sheriff Arrested
Former Randolph County Sheriff Aaron Wilson has been arrested on suspicion of stealing, according to current Sheriff Andy Boggs.
Wilson was taken into custody Thursday evening on suspicion of stealing $750.
He later posted a $5,000 cash bond and was released.
The warrant was issued in Randolph County, but Boggs said his office was not involved in the arrest.
Court records did not list formal charges Thursday night, and a court date is pending.
The arrest follows a 2025 state audit that alleged more than $224,000 in funds were improperly spent during Wilson’s time as sheriff.
