Kansas Man Pleads Guilty in 2025 Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Boone County

A Kansas man accused in the death of a man on a motorcycle in July 2025 in Boone County has pleaded guilty.

On Friday, 37-year-old Donald J. Legleiter pleaded guilty to First Degree Involuntary Manslaughter, Second Degree Assault, First Degree Property Damage, and Leaving Scene Of Accident causing Physical Injury in the July 14, 2025 incident, where a witness reported seeing Legleiter’s vehicle hit a motorcycle and drive away.

Legleiter has been held in the Boone County Jail without bond.

He will be sentenced on September 28, 2026.
