Man Charged for Shooting BB Gun at Homeless Camp in Boone County

A Boone County man was charged over the weekend with assault after allegedly shooting someone with a BB gun at a homeless camp.

Officers were called to a hospital on Friday, where a victim reported that 62-year-old Frank Phillips shot them with a BB gun on East Walnut Street.

The victim reportedly had multiple wounds, and court documents note that X-rays showed a foreign object was lodged near their spine.

Officers later arrested Phillips at a gas station.

Prosecutors charged him with Third Degree Assault.

Phillips was being held in the Boone County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
