2002 Murder Trial Delayed to 2027

The trial for a Callaway County man accused of killing his wife more than two decades ago has been delayed.

Court records show 67-year-old Harold Dickens is now scheduled to go before a jury January 15th, 2027. The trial was previously set for October.

Dickens is charged with first-degree murder in the 2002 stabbing death of his wife, Debra.

Investigators say the couple was separated and had an argument shortly before her death.

A jury from Clay County will hear the case. A pretrial hearing is scheduled for December 21st.

Dickens has been held in the Callaway County Jail since November 2023.
