CPS Considers Bullying Policy Changes

Columbia Public Schools is considering changes to its bullying policy that would require employees to take a more active role when they witness bullying.

The proposed policy would also set timelines for investigating complaints, with investigations beginning within two school days and generally completed within ten.

The committee is also reviewing when parents should be notified and how the district can respond to bullying that happens off campus.

The policy is still being revised and won’t go before the full school board for at least another month.
