Jeff City Man Receives Charges for Alleged Abuse of an Elderly Person
A Jefferson City man is facing charges after allegedly abusing an elderly person.
Authorities responded to a report in the early hours of Thursday and discovered the elderly victim on oxygen, in tears in the kitchen of the home. The victim claimed that 31-year-old Tommy Teyrell Jones was heavily intoxicated and punched them causing them to fall.
The victim said that Jones is meant to be their caretaker but all he has done is physically abuse them and drink.
Probable cause statements report that Jones was previously arrested for assaulting the victim in the past year.
Jones was arrested and charged with Abuse of an Elderly, Disabled or Vulnerable Person and Fourth-Degree Domestic Assault.
He was booked into the Cole County Jail without bond.
