Jayhawks/Mizzou Flag Fuels Cheer Fundraiser
A Kansas Jayhawks flag flying beside Central Bank in Ashland is turning a college rivalry into a fundraiser for Southern Boone High School’s cheer team.
Through Friday, fans can donate toward either Mizzou or Kansas, with donations determining which flag flies.
The cheer team hopes to raise 7-thousand-500 dollars to send 24 to 30 cheerleaders to nationals in Fort Worth, Texas, in January.
Coach Lindsay Morris says the trip could cost families more than 30-thousand dollars total.
At least 10 percent of the fundraiser’s proceeds will also benefit MizzouThon, supporting children and families at MU Health Care’s Children’s Hospital.
