Airport Expansion Brings Stormwater Work

Columbia Regional Airport is continuing its expansion with a new stormwater improvement project beginning Tuesday.

The project will improve drainage from the airport’s north parking lot and direct water away from the area as construction continues.

A section of roadway near Airport Drive will be removed during the work, causing drivers to be redirected around the site through Thursday.

The project is part of a larger airport expansion plan following recent growth.

Officials say more improvements are planned, with more than $100 million expected to be invested in airport projects over the next five years.
