Buckner Man Injured in UTV Crash

An 82-year-old Buckner man was airlifted to Columbia with serious injuries after a UTV crash in Chariton County Sunday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the man was driving west on U.S. 24 near Brunswick when his UTV struck a Chariton County Sheriff’s Office patrol car multiple times.

The UTV then overcorrected, ran off the roadway, overturned, and ejected the driver. The crash report says he was not wearing a seat belt.

The sheriff’s deputy involved in the crash was not injured.

The UTV was totaled, and the patrol vehicle suffered moderate damage.
