Effort to save Columbia’s Katy Station

Columbian’s are coming together to try to preserve the Katy Station, which currently houses Shiloh Bar and Grill, Shiloh announced earlier this month that it would close at the end of the year due to a sale.

A local group is hoping to keep the structure from being demolished as part of plan by an out-of-state developer to demolish it, along with much of that block of downtown, to build more student apartments.

Katy Station has a long history in the city of Columbia. The Missouri-Kansas-Texas (M.K.T.) Railroad Passenger Depot, was constructed in 1909. The railroad sold the property in 1975.
