Moberly Murder Case Advances After Hearing
A Moberly man charged with first-degree murder will proceed to trial after a judge found enough evidence to move the case forward.
Fifty-one-year-old Christopher Viley appeared in court Thursday for a preliminary hearing in Randolph County.
Viley is charged in the August shooting death of 57-year-old Cheryl Gravitt, who was found with a gunshot wound outside her Moberly home.
Six witnesses testified at Thursday’s hearing, including law enforcement officers and a child advocacy center representative.
Viley’s arraignment is scheduled for October 28. He remains in the Randolph County Jail without bond.
