Discrimination Bill

The Missouri state senate has given initial approval to a bill that would make it harder to sue businesses for discrimination.

The measure would require the plaintiff to prove that race, gender or religion was the sole purpose for a job termination, and not just a contributing factor.

Republicans say this is an effort to offset frivolous law suits.

The minority democrats led a filibuster on the motion.
