Natural Cover Fire in Mexico

12 acres of stubble and standing corn is destroyed after a fire in the 15000 block of Highway M in Mexico yesterday (Thursday).

Little Dixie Fire Protection and the North Callaway Fire Protection District responded to the fire at just after 1:30 yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.


The cause of the fire is believed to have been ignited by a bad bearing or debris from the exhaust of a combine being used to harvest the corn.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
