A Vandalia Resident sustained moderate injuries after a vehicle was struck by a train just after 5:00 yesterday morning. [Wednesday]
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 26 year old Hannah Landers was driving on Audrain County Road 577 at Highway 54 when he failed to see a train at a railroad crossing.
The crossing did not have a crossbar and bells, only a yield sign with railroad crossing.
Landers pulled into the path of the train and was struck on the passenger sign.
Landers was taken by ambulance to SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Mexico.
