The announcement is being made that former Missouri Tiger and NFL defensive lineman Atiyyah Ellison will take over the role.
Ellison has been an assistant coach at Battle and played defensive line for Mizzou from 2002-2004.
He was also selected by the Carolina Panthers in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft.
Ellsion is taking over for Justin Conyers who left Battle to take over as head coach for the Hallsville Indians football team.
