Montgomery County Deputy Given Commendation For Life Saving Efforts

Montgomery County Sheriff, Matthew Schoo, recently presented a deputy with a commendation for saving the life of a resident.

On March 6, Deputy Alex Brant heard EMS being called to an address in Bellflower for a 32 year old male who had severely cut his wrist with a razor blade while installing a car windshield.

Upon arrival, Brant found Eric Verhoff bleeding uncontrollably. Brant immediately began administering first aid and was successful in stopping the bleeding.

Brant stayed with Verhoff and continued administering first aid until EMS arrived.

Verhoff contacted the sheriff’s office after the incident and and reported he feels like he would have bled to death if not for the actions of Deputy Brant.
