Judge Dismisses Case Against Governor Mike Parson

Cole County Judge Jon Beetem dismissed a case filed by democrats alleging Missouri Governor Mike Parson did not have the power to appoint a Lieutenant Governor today. [Wednesday]

In a hearing held last Thursday, one line in the Missouri Constitution was debated. The sentence says “The governor shall fill all vacancies in public offices unless otherwise provided by law.”


The conclusion of the ruling was that Parson had the power to appoint Mike Kehoe to fill the vacancy.
