Day two of the trial of Martin Priest who is charged with Capitol Murder in the 1984 death of Tammy Rothganger in Eldon took place in Laclede County today. [Wednesday]
David Nicholas, Priest’s nephew, testified today he was with Priest when Rothganger was killed. He said he and Priest picked up Rothganger at school and they drove to a remote part of Miller County where Nicholas and Priest sexually assaulted her before Priest hit her in the head with a wrench and strangled her.
Nicholas further testified Priest brought Tammy’s body back to Nicholas’s house and put it in a back bedroom. They later disposed of the remains in a remote area. Her body has never been found.
Priest is expected to take the stand in the trial.
