Mexico Public Safety was called to the 4800 block of South Clark just before 5:30 this morning [Friday] after a report a woman was possibly in possession of a bomb.
Officers responded to the business and were told a woman had been in the store earlier behaving strangely but had left. She returned later, and when approached by the store associates she told them to leave her alone and that she had a bomb.
Store employees moved all customers away from where the woman was.
Officers made contact with the 39 year old and determined there was no explosive device.
She was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for evaluation.
Public safety will work to determine if criminal charges are appropriate.
