Mexico Public Safety responded to an accident on the Highway 54 bypass at around 11:15 yesterday [Tuesday] morning.
According to Mexico Public Safety, the crash occurred when 34 year old Jim Day of Mexico was traveling behind 24 year old Mathew Barton of New Bloomfield.
A vehicle attempted to pass a semi and Barton applied the brakes to avoid a collision and was struck in the rear by Day.
There were no apparent injuries in the incident.
