The Hannibal City Council heard the first reading of a grant that would be used to replace sealant on the concrete runway at Hannibal Regional Airport last night. [Tuesday]
The federal grant would cover 90 percent of the cost to repair cracked concrete and holes on the runway.
The airport was recently approved to allow bigger planes, with the maximum weight allowed to land increasing from 12 thousand to 23 thousand pounds.
The work to fix the runway would begin next spring.
