Court documents say a double homicide in Moberly on December 28 was the result of a drug deal gone bad.
According to the probable cause statement, 20 year old Christopher Esry told his wife he and 40 year old Aaron Bloss were going to Columbia to commit a robbery, and she witnessed the men putting guns in the vehicle when they left.
Esry, Bloss and Travis Koenig arrived at Bud’s Place in Moberly to steal drugs from 51 year old Darren Tharp and 24 year old Shane Hare.
Bloss told police Esry held him at gunpoint and threatened to kill his family if he didn’t participate in the robbery.
Bloss and Esry allegedly entered the back of Tharp and Hare’s vehicle and demanded meth. The victims handed it to them, and as Bloss got out of the car he heard 2 gunshots and ran to the get away vehicle driven by Koenig.
