The identity of human remains found inside a barrel on the Gasconade River last week are still unknown.
The Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook, the plastic barrel was found on Friday afternoon lodged on the side of a boat ramp in the river.
The barrel was then taken to the Boone County Medical Examiner’s Office in Columbia, where examiners confirmed yesterday (Monday) the remains in the barrel were human.
An investigation is ongoing with the medical examiner to determine the identity of the person and the cause of their death.
