It has been four years since Audrain County lost a law enforcement officer in the line of duty.
Twenty-five-year-old Trooper James Bava died in a one vehicle traffic crash on Route FF, just east of Audrain County Road 977 at 8:30 in the morning on August 28, 2015.

Sergeant Scott White with the Missouri State Highway Patrol says “we will forever be grateful for his service and will honor him by demonstrating the Patrol Core Values in all that we do. We remain humbled by the generosity of Audrain County residents and surrounding areas for the support of James, his family, and those troopers who currently serve in Troop F, Zone 4.”
