Special Legislative Session Cost More than 70 Thousand Dollars

A recent special legislative session in Jefferson City cost approximately $70 thousand to hold.

Republican Governor Mike Parson called the special session to overlap with lawmakers’ annual meeting to review vetoed bills.

Parson called lawmakers to undo a recent Supreme Court ruling that found taxpayers could only trade-in one vehicle for a discounted sales tax on a new vehicle.

Some lawmakers say the issue did not merit a special session, stating that healthcare of gun violence were more worthy topics of discussion.
