An early-morning traffic stop in Fulton leads to a drug arrest.
According to the Fulton Police Department, a Fulton PD officer and a Callaway County deputy made a traffic stop on Highway 54 at Highway H just before 1:00 this (Friday) morning.
When they contacted the driver, contraband was in plain sight.
As they tried to detain the driver, he fled on foot.
After a short foot pursuit, 49-year old Charles E. Pugh of Auxvasse was taken into custody and charged with resisting arrest, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia for both methamphetamine and marijuana.
Pugh is currently under the supervision of Missouri Probation and Parole for possession of a controlled substance.
