Mexico Mayor Dr. Ayanna Shivers And Community Holding Meetings On Gun Violence
Mexico Mayor Dr. Ayanna Shivers and members of the community are holding meetings to talk about gun violence that has claimed the life of 2 young people in the town over the last 45 days.
25 year old Chance Davis was shot and killed in his home on June 27th.
Last week 17 year old Tornez Burton was shot and killed at Garfield Park.
Dr. Shivers says her group is called Rebuilding the Community and during their first meeting on Sunday, they talked about how they can help.
Shivers says they will be meeting again on August 30th at 1:30 at TyLand at 110 West Jackson to continue the conversation.
