National Wireless Emergency Alert Test Set For Wednesday Afternoon

Shortly after 1:20 tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon, your phone, radio, and TV will get an alert to test national readiness.

The test, conducted by FEMA, is the sixth and latest in a series of tests of the Emergency Alert System for radio and TV and the Wireless Emergency Alerts for cell phones.

The message received on phones will clearly indicate that it is a test and will read: “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”
