Driver Sentenced in Crash That Killed Teen Motorcyclist

A Columbia woman was sentenced to serve 120 days in jail for a crash that killed a teenage motorcyclist in 2023.

Elizabeth Lopez was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to leaving the scene of an accident.

Her four-year prison term was suspended, and she’ll remain on probation for five years if she follows the court’s conditions.

Police say Lopez pulled out in front of two motorcyclists on West Broadway near Yorkshire Boulevard, throwing both riders from their bikes.

Eighteen-year-old Walker Davis later died from his injuries.

Lopez fled the scene and was arrested the day after the crash.
