A Columbia man is facing charges after a reported shots fired incident Monday evening at the Woodstock Mobile Home Park.
Thirty-six-year-old Phillip Etheridge was charged with unlawful use of a weapon after witnesses told Columbia police he threatened several people with a gun during a verbal altercation.
According to court documents, Etheridge told officers the argument began after someone called him a derogatory name. Investigators say Etheridge admitted he went back to his residence and fired a shot.
Police also reported Etheridge appeared intoxicated and recovered a handgun from his home.
He is being held at the Boone County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
