Columbia Public Schools has named a new principal for West Boulevard Elementary School beginning with the 2026-27 school year.
Dr. M. Fernanda Blackburn, currently the assistant principal at Shepard Boulevard Elementary School, will take over the role as Morgan Neale transitions to Rock Bridge Elementary as assistant principal.
According to the district, Blackburn brings 26 years of experience in education, including two decades as a classroom teacher and four years in school administration. Superintendent Jeff Klein praised Blackburn’s commitment to student success, educator support and community partnerships.
Blackburn holds degrees in bilingual education, education and child development and education.
